The Muse
THE MUSE is an award-winning hybrid publication that compiles student art and writing into an annual magazine. Founded in 2002, this class was established on the principles of escaping the structure of school and creating an environment where we can explore the arts and find our voices. We focus on composing creative writing and showcasing the work of Northview’s talented artists, writers, designers, and many more in celebration of their creativity. View our official website here. Q: What’s your name?
A: My name is Suhasini!
Q: What grade are you in?
A: I am in 11th grade.
Q:What is your favorite art medium?
A: My favorite art medium is definitely nail art. I love that it’s both a piece of art as well as something that you actually get to wear. I really love when I see people wearing my designs when I’m walking through the halls or anything like that!
Q:What motivates you to keep creating and practicing nail art?
A: I love doing nails for my friends! It motivates me when people get excited about a design I’ve done. It makes me want to keep improving and try new things. I also like to think that since I enjoyed doing my nails so much when I was younger, it makes me happy to do my nails now at such an improved scale.
Q: Can you share your favorite set you’ve ever done and why it’s special to you?
A: My favorite set ever would have to be a set I did on one of my friends that looked like a fawn pattern. That was the first more complicated set I had tried, and it gave me confidence to keep going! I loved how unique it looked and how much detail went into it.
Q: How do you come up with new ideas for nail art?
A: I like to get inspo from Pinterest and online, and a lot of times I’ll ask other people what they have saved so I can see a wide range of styles. It helps me find new ideas I might not have thought of on my own, and I can mix different things together to make something really cute and unique.
