Student Elections 2022-23

To apply for the 2022-23 Student Council or Class Council, please read the following instructions.

Application Process:

1. Student Council and Class Council advisers may appoint up to four students to councils.

2. Persons applying for Student Council or Class Council may only apply for a single position.

3. On the first of April, applications will be made available to all current Northview High     

     School students, excluding seniors. These students will submit the completed application no later     

     than April 22, at 3:30pm. Anything submitted after that time will not be considered. There can

     be no exceptions.

4. The application must be submitted, in full. (Any incomplete sections will result in removal of the

     application.)

5. Your eligibility to submit an application is based upon your good academic standing, clear      

    discipline record this semester, and recommendation from teachers or other supervisors. 

Please do not attempt to complete the application if you have an issue with any of the above three categories.

6. Students will choose to apply for an officer position or a representative position. For each class    

     council, there will be four officers and up to fifteen representatives. For Student Council, there will be    

     four upper class officers, then five representatives for each grade. Students who are not selected as

     officers or representatives may be given status of “alternate”. An “alternate” student may take the   

     place of a student who leaves the council during the year. “Alternates” will be notified in person,

     when/if they are needed.

7. Students who have been appointed by advisers will be notified upon completion of the application.

     Any appointed student who does not complete the application may not serve on any council.

8. Providing inaccurate or false information on the application will result in removal of the application.

9.  Students must send a link to a recommendation form to a total of two teachers or employers. Two

      recommenders must fill out a MS Teams form, recommending the student or not, prior to the

      application deadline.  Students who complete the application, but do not have two letters of

      recommendation completed by the application deadline will be removed from the process.

10. The applications and recommendations will be reviewed by a panel of teachers. Students will be    

     notified of their induction into Class Council or Student Council on the first Monday in May.      

     Alternates will be notified the next day.

11. Decisions made by the panel are final.
